Emerging Leader: Harmony Carter

WMDT- It’s Monday, which means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader.

Harmony Carter, a Crisfield High School graduate, was recently awarded by the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore for raising awareness about addiction through an art competition.

This morning, she stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to share more about what it was like to win while doing it for a good cause.

Carter has placed in the competition since the 7th grade!

She says it started as an opportunity to practice her art, and she became very passionate about the cause.

Harmony tells us that her winning piece titled “Drugs Control the Show” was inspired by photos of puppeteers.

She compares them to how addiction can control someone’s life, and she hopes her art can inspire others not to do drugs.

Now that she has graduated, she wants to move to New York City and enter bigger art competitions.

If you think you know someone who would be perfect for our emerging leaders segment, send us your recommendation at newsroom@wmdt.com
