Maryland State Firefighters Parade returns to OC, officials issue travel advisories
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The annual Maryland State Firefighters’ Parade is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
In order to accommodate the parade, the Town will implement a modified traffic pattern starting at around 11 a.m. Parade staging will take place in the Inlet Parking Lot, with parking restricted from Row D southward to allow room for firetrucks and participants to line up safely.
The parade route will take place northbound on Baltimore Avenue, starting at 14th Street and ending at 30th Street. The northbound lanes of Baltimore Avenue will be closed to general traffic during the parade; vehicles driving northbound will be detoured west on 15th Street.
Starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, parking will be restricted in the following areas:
- Baltimore Avenue between 12th and 31st Streets
- 15th Street between Baltimore and Philadelphia Avenues
- 12th Street between Baltimore and Philadelphia Avenues
Traffic delays should be expected in and around the parade route. Motorists not attending the parade who are driving northbound should plan to use alternate routes, such as Philadelphia Avenue starting at 9th Street or St. Louis Avenue.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
