UPDATE: Early morning crash claims life of pedestrian in Dover

6/11 UPDATE: Delaware State Police have identified the victim in this crash as 39-year-old Brandon Lemon of Dover.

The crash remains under investigation.

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police say an early morning crash claimed the life of a Dover man.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., troopers say a Jeep Cherokee was driving northbound in the right lane of Route 1, approaching White Oak Road in Dover. At the same time, a pedestrian wearing dark, non-reflective clothing and not carrying a light, was reportedly in the Jeep’s travel path on Route 1. The pedestrian was subsequently hit by the Jeep.

The pedestrian, a 39-year-old Dover man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, a 63-year-old Berlin man, was not injured.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed this crash to contact Master Corporal W. Booth at 302-698-8451. The crash remains under investigation.
