Magnolia house fire ruled accidental

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Officials say a house fire in Magnolia on Sunday has been ruled accidental.

Shortly after noon, firefighters with the Magnolia Fire Company responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Anderson Road. At the scene, crews found a detached storage building fully engulfed in flames with exposure to a residence.

Deputy State Fire Marshals were called in to investigate, determining that the fire began inside of an enclosed workshop within the structure. The fire was reportedly caused by an undetermined failure of a lithium-ion battery pack within the workshop.

Total damage has been estimated at $250,000. No injuries were reported.
