Good Morning Delmarva discusses the annual Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival

WMDT – Car enthusiasts and boat lovers, the Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival is returning this weekend on Kent Island!

It’s an opportunity to see classic automobiles, grand motor yachts, tractors, and more.

This morning, Luke Phipps and Jeff Smith, are here to tell us more about what the festival entails.

Phipps, president of the Kent Island Yacht Club, says that the idea came to them during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They say that the event attracts people from all over the country and keeps gaining more traction every year.

You can expect to see new Ferraris, Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Mustangs, Beetles, and more.

Smith, the vice commodore, says there will be yachts from early as the 1920’s to modern day times.

The event takes place at the Kent Island Yacht Club on both Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 am.
