Wanted Felton man arrested following car crash

FELTON, Del. – A Felton man was arrested Saturday afternoon on outstanding warrants following a car crash.

At around 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Main Street, making contact with the driver and sole occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Further investigation revealed that a man at the scene was driving the vehicle at the time it crashed into a utility pole.

The man was identified as 28-year-old Michael Dobies, who was found to be wanted on multiple felony charges out of the Wyoming Police Department and New Castle County Superior Court, including theft $1500 or greater and victim is 62 years of age or older, home improvement fraud by false pretense value $1500 or greater and victim is 62 years of age or older, and home improvement fraud by untrue statements of materials/facts and victim is 62 years of age or older.

He was additionally cited by Felton Police for inattentive driving.

Police say W. Main Street had numerous traffic delays for several hours while work crews replaced a utility pole that was severely damaged in the crash.
