UPDATE: Accidental shooting claims life of Magnolia man, police investigating

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Police say a Magnolia man is dead following an accidental shooting Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 8 p.m., troopers were called to a field on Walnut Shade Road near Autumn Moon Road for a reported accidental shooting. They arrived at the scene to find a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and began life saving efforts.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and three others were target shooting when the victim was accidentally shot.

The incident remains under investigation.
