One killed in Milford crash
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of one Friday evening.
At around 6 p.m., police say a white Chevrolet Malibu was driving northbound on North Church Street, preparing to make a left turn into a home in the 600 block. As the Malibu tried to turn left, a black Suzuki GSX1300 motorcycle reportedly tried to illegally pass the Malibu on the left side at a high rate of speed, subsequently crashing into the Malibu.
The 34-year-old motorcycle operator, identified as Robert Pierce of Greenwood, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 62-year-old driver of the Malibu was not injured. A 43-year-old female passenger in the Malibu was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries and was later released.
