Authorities investigating body pulled from Choptank River

Authorities are now working to identify a body that was reportedly found Tuesday morning near Horn Point on the Choptank River in Cambridge.

According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, a waterman discovered a body in the river around 8:00 AM and called authorities. No identity has been released yet, but authorities confirmed it was a man’s body.

DNR officials tell 47 ABC that the remains have been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. A Natural Resources Police spokesperson tells 47 ABC they are investigating missing persons reports in the area.

Officials say they’re not sure yet whether foul play is suspected.
