ShoreRivers in need of volunteers for new study
DELMARVA. – ShoreRivers, a local organization, is partnering with the Smithsonian Museum.
They need volunteers for the Water Watch Program, an effort between the organization and the Smithsonian, which will help keep our waterways on Delmarva clean.
All you need is a device to be able to participate. Community engagement coordinator, Maegan White explains how it works:
“This is a really easy program that you can do on your phone, that requires you to just have a grey card,” said White.
“Go out to a dock or a public landing and take photos of the water, and this helps calibrate satellites, so they can calibrate satellites systems to identify turbidity or water clarity issues,” she added.
To get involved, you can email Maegan at MWhite@ShoreRivers.org.
