MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department is getting new gear. MPD has unveiled a new EV vehicle fleet. With the help of Energize Delaware, which supported the project with grant funding given to the department.

The department was able to secure three new vehicles and hopes it will reduce carbon in the environment and also promote sustainable energy.

Sergeant Timothy Maloney is excited about the new technology. He said the fleet will give MPD more safe, efficient, and sustainable options.

“We brought these vehicles to do evaluation and testing to see how they would hold up to police operations.”

Currently, the Milford PD does not plan to use the vehicles for patrol operations. The use will be determined after final evaluations later in the year.
