City of Salisbury announces new parking system for Downtown area

SALISBURY, Md. – The City of Salisbury has announced a new partnership with T2 Systems to improve the efficiency and convenience of downtown parking.

We’re told the changes will impact the Downtown Business District, specific residential streets, and the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage. The City will implement an automated permit management and mobile payment system, which will allow users to manage their permits, pay for parking tickets, pay for a parking session, and receive notifications when their parking is confirmed and when it is set to expire. The parking garage will be cashless, with payments accepted through mobile transactions and pay stations. Parking rates for those using the garage are $2 per hour or $10 per day.

License Plate Readers will be installed to help with enforcement, and parking violations will be automatically issued if payment is not made for permits, garage parking, or if a vehicle is parked for longer than two hours on the street. Free two-hour on-street parking will continue to be offered to ensure spaces remain available throughout the day. Those planning to stay downtown for more than two hours are encouraged to use the parking garage or Lot 10.

Parking will remain free in the evenings after 4 p.m., as well as on weekends and holidays.

The full transition is slated to begin in early April. More information can be found here.
