Shooting at Village Drive ends in two people from Dover arrested

Dover, Del. – Police have arrested two people in connection to a shooting on Village Drive Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, their investigation into the shooting began around 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

They learned a Capital School District bus was dropping off students on Village Drive when a masked suspect began chasing one of the students.

The suspect began shooting at the student while running and the bus driver left the area to ensure the safety of others.

No one was injured.

Officers determined the 17-year-old suspect was responsible for the shooting and that the 22-year-old, Rouma Aldonza, had driven him to the scene.

The car was found in the Woodmill Apartment parking lot on 1200 South Farmview Drive around 7:15 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted and both males were taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant, detectives entered a home at Woodmill Apartments where they found a handgun.

Both suspects are facing charges for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering in the 1st degree, and conspiracy in the 2nd degree.
