a group effort here today at the united methodist church as they get together to celebrate their 28th annual peach and crab festival. 08:05:26 track sun-ripened peaches,pies,fritte rs, home-made cobbler, authentic eastern shore crab cakes, and peach ice cream were all hot topics today at saturday’s festival. members of the church tell 47 abc that this is the most sought out event of the year however- 80% of the peach crops on the eastern shore were destroyed during early blossoming and late frost- leaving the event with a shortage ofpeaches but certainly not people. 07:51:50 i’ve sold out a couple times 07:51:52 i raided the kitchen supply twice to get enough07:51:55 track edwina sipler has been attending the church for over 50 years. she tells 47 abc that all the proceeds will go to rebuilding their 116 year old church that’s currently under construction in addition to supporting missionary work. 07:53:48 i think that its amazing that the young people carry it on and i think its great it gets everybody together 07:53:56 track claira mace has been attending the peach festivals since they started nearly 3 decades ago. she tells 47 abc most of the adults there – she’s known since they were kids. and that many of them have very strong ties to these events. much like opie- a long time member of the church that had people waiting in line for her famous crab cakes. 08:00:10 i can’t tell you what’s in them umm – it’s my mother’s recipe :14 and we’ve been using it for our church 16 butt 08:00:21 she hasn’t been with us for a long time but we still carry on the tradition of her crab cakes 08:00:27 ashonti ford 47abc the antioch united methodist church will
