Pittsville man sentenced for sexually abusing minor

SALISBURY, Md. – A Pittsville man has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison for sexually abusing a minor.

23-year-old Cypress Taylor was sentenced late last month to 25 years of active incarceration after pleading guilty to sex abuse of a minor, sex abuse of a minor – continuing course of conduct, and third degree sex offense.

During the fall of 2022, Taylor sexually abused a minor child under the age of 13. After being discovered, Taylor fled the state, but was quickly located and extradited back to Maryland for prosecution.

Following his active sentence, Taylor will be placed on five years of supervised probation and will be subject to 40 years incarceration if he violates probation.
