Emerging Leader: William Levatino
WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader!
William Levatino recently won Skipper of the Year by Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating also known as CRAB.
He tells us he’s been sailing since he was a child, and he volunteers to share his love for the water activity.
William has been volunteering as a CRAB skipper since 2020 and says although CRAB has always had a special place in his life, it still came as a shock when he won this award.
Levatino says sailing can help build self-confidence and self-awareness, plus it’s a great chance to interact with nature.
Woking with CRAB has allowed him to teach those with disabilities.
We’re told William enjoys sharing his passion with an underserved community, and they’re helping him just as much as he is helping them.
He says it’s fulfilling to see them have such appreciation for sailing.
