Law enforcement give car safety tips amid uptick in break-ins

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department is warning residents, amid an uptick in car break-ins.

The agency said they’re crimes of opportunity and is sharing steps the public can take to protect their belongings.

One thing you can do is to never keep valuables in your car. You should also lock your doors and keep your car parked in a well-lit area.

Corporal Anthony Foy of SPD said the public can also be helpful to law enforcement in their investigations.

“Certainly, if anybody in the area has ring cameras or anything like that, and they have somebody on camera that’s either looking inside a car or checking door handles or anything like that, please feel free to contact us at the police department,” Cpl. Foy said.
