Body of woman found in Wilmington dumpster

(AP) – Wilmington police are investigating a suspicious death after a woman was found dead inside a dumpster in Wilmington.

According to a statement issued by the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a call regarding a possible suspicious death investigation. Sgt. Andrea Janvier says when officers reached the location they found an unidentified body in a dumpster.
 
The body is described as a black female between 18-25 years old. It’s unclear how long the body had been in the dumpster.
 
Police say the body was taken to the State of Delaware Office of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and identification.
