SALISBURY, Md. – Renovations are set to begin at the Wicomico Civic Center later this month.

In the spring of 2022, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration announced a $5.5 million federal grant to make major improvements to the venue, which will be combined with $4.3 million in state and local funding, bringing the renovation total to $9.8 million.

Plans include an expanded box office and lobby, safety barriers along the north and west sides of the venue, improved ADA access, an expanded food court, and better connectivity between the venue and the Wicomico High School campus.

The venue will remain fully operation throughout the renovation. The project is expected to take approximately one year.
