Arrest warrants issued in Pocomoke shooting

POCOMOKE, Md. -Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred at a convenience store on Linden Avenue in Pocomoke, Maryland, on the morning of January 5, 2025. Around 9:50 a.m., law enforcement from the Pocomoke City Police Department and Worcester County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

According to officials, 18 -year-old Evrin Holden Jr. and 19-year-old Jymere Williams , both from Pocomoke, were involved in a shooting in the parking lot of the store. The two men exchanged gunfire, and during the incident, a third individual who was seated in a vehicle nearby was shot while attempting to flee. This individual was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious injuries.

Holden also sustained a gunshot wound to his face and was later found at Tidal Health in Salisbury before being transported to the same trauma center.

Detectives from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation executed search warrants at two Pocomoke residences connected to the shooting. As a result, arrest warrants have been issued for both Holden and Williams on various charges, including attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and illegal possession of firearms.

Holden faces charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Assault, and other related offenses. Williams is also facing similar charges, along with additional counts of Loaded Handgun on Person and Handgun on Person.

Sheriff Crisafulli condemned the violence, stating, “We will not tolerate any such violence, and we will act swiftly to hold those involved accountable.”
