Apparent attempted suicide at local detention center

On Sunday, the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation was reportedly notified of an attempted suicide that happened at The Wicomico County Detention Center.
Investigators say they learned that Thomas Gosier was being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center, and when correctional guards responded to check on him, he was reportedly suffering from a suspected self-inflicted injury.
Correctional guards say they gave first aid to Gosier, and Salisbury EMS responded and continued treatment. According to the report, Gosier was transported and transferred to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
At this time, investigators say they do not suspect foul play, and Gosier is listed in unstable and critical condition.
Officials say that the case is open pending further investigation.
