Artists use OC sand to create lasting masterpieces

If you want to enjoy some of that nice weather the Eastern Shore has had, you may want to head over to Ocean city for Sandfest which is in full effect.

This is the 3rd annual OC sandfest and people walking by say it gets better and better every year. These guys come from Florida just to create these sand sculptures and their only tools are their hands, sand and water.

Some of the artists say they’ve been sculpting for nearly 20 years. As for the boardwalk, there are currently 10 pieces of sand art in the works. Patrick Harsh started this trend and he says he only wants one thing.

“I just hope they smile. I like things pretty simple. Come by take some pictures and share it on,” said Harsh.

Now the group of artists is called Team Santastic. And they plan to light up their sand sculptures Friday night for anyone that wants to enjoy a night out on the boardwalk.
