You can drop off your Christmas tree at local Worcester County landfills

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Worcester County residents who want to give away their Christmas tree can at local landfill locations.

The Worcester County Public Works Solid Waste Division is inviting the community up until January 31st, 2025.

Residents can drop off Christmas Trees at the central landfill in Newark, or the transfer landfills in Berlin, Pocomoke City, and Snow Hill for free.

County Recycling Manager Bob Keenan said the trees recycled will go back into helping Worcester County deal with its dumps.

“The hope is we use the remaining shreds for the landfill, for problems when we have weather events for traction on the roads.”

County officials are hoping to collect as many as 100 trees.
