Crisfield ranks as one of the best landing spots for people entering retirement
CRISFIELD, Md. – Maryland is full of charm and community, and one local city has been listed as a great landing spot for retirees. The seafood capital of the world, Crisfield Maryland ranks as one of the best destinations for people heading into retirement.
Mayor Darlene Taylor is excited for the future of Crisfield. “I spoke with so many people over the last two years that came to visit, now they live here because they love coming to this area.”
Mayor Taylor hopes to address the problems that have plagued the city. She said officials are hard at work to fix the issues. “Crisfield is really on the rise. We’re addressing some of our major challenges with flooding and revitalization.”
Crisfield resident, Laurieann Miller hasn’t retired herself, but she’s called Crisfield home since 1998. She moved from Smith Island to pursue nursing school. She tells WMDT that, she doesn’t plan on leaving the area. “If you’re looking for a quiet place to live near the water, this is the place to be, it is for me. I love Crisfield.”
Mayor Taylor believes Crisfield is the city is different from anywhere around the state.
“One thing about the Crisfield community, that I consider unique is there’s generations of us that are here. A lot of people that were born here and grew up here make this a tight-knit community.”
