Western Maryland man pled guilty to intent to engage in sexu

— after he was found trying to have a sexual relationship with a minor. according to the u-s district attorney’s office — james cicala — was sentenced to seven years behind bars. authorities say last year an undercover detective with the worcester county sheriff’s office wasinvestigating child solicitation on the internet when he responded to an ad entitled “daddy’s little girl.” the undercover detective apparently identified himself as a teen girl – police say the then 54-year-old cicala identified himself as a 40-year-old man – and proceeded to have numerous conversations with who he though was an underage girl. now according to reports – cicala made contact by phone and police were able to track that number to the department of justice. that was how authorities say they determined cicala worked for the d-o-j – and was using his work phone and computer to communicate. police say cicala was arrested in august of last year after he traveled from delaware to worcester county maryland to engage in sexual conduct with who he though was a girl. cicala eventually plead guilty to intending to engage in sexual acts with a minor. we’re told he was ordered to register as a sex offender. and officials say he is no longer employed with the d-o-j. two target locations on delmarva —
