now.. our high school football previews.. who we looking at this time yeah that’s right hard to believe we are less than a week away from the opening day kick off i cant wait these previews are fun, but i cant wait for the real thing our high school football tour picks back up tonight, as this time we head over to georgetown to check out this years susex tech squad the ravens are coming off another great year… finishing 8-2, while making the state tournament tonight, we go inside the huddle of this years squad. nat pop forget what you think you know about tech nat pop cause in 2016, they got a whole new bag of tricks nat pop “speed kills, and like i said, we are a lot more scrappier, we just ready. we have a lot more heart. we ready to grind it out and get after it.” the ravens offense said, we are a lot more scrappier, we just ready. we have a lot more heart. we ready to grind it out and get after it.” the ravens offense has gone through a complete makeover… for the last 5 years, they’ve had a downhill runner in the backfield, behind one of the better lines around. now, their adjusting to their new weapons “ya know with kani kane and pat griffin, they were bruisers, they came down hill, now we have more of a perimeter game. so we will try and use our speed to get into open space, make guys try and tackle us in open space and hopefully create big plays for our offense this year.” tech will be showcasing a number of speed backs this year, headlined by isaiah brown “he’s quick, and you know whatever coach tells him to do, he is going to do, and that’s all that matters. ya know we lost great football players in patt and kani, but we got a really good one coming back to us.” and the speed in the backfield doesn’t stop with their running back tyzhir morris, a duel threat quarterback, will be taking over under center “tajier brings a while new level of excitement to our offense. it’s running a little bit more option, as well as running a little bit more with the quarterback. he definitely adds a new dimension to our offense.” the ravens still have a lot of work to do, before the transition is a finished product and with just 10 seniors this year, this will be one of the youngest teams for tech in years. “we try and practice that tempo, as if it’s friday night. and really get out young guys reps, just in case, ya know, you never know when its going to be your time to go in.” “we are young and everything, but ya know, us seniors, we are suppose to lead these young guys to be the best that they can be. and they are really following our lead, and everything, and they are getting after it like everybody else, so we are ready.” sussex tech opens their season hosting ai dupont, in the d-f-r-c kickoff classic on august 8th.. the first time the ravens program has ever gotten to host that game turning to a little field hockey some high honors being handed out today for four of our local high school stars here on the shore. delmar’s peyton kemp, pocomoke’s dani batze, cape’s annie judge and kent island’s abigail carpenter were all named to the mid-atlantic region, preseason watch list that ‘s a saying something considering only 20 players make the list, made of up maryland, delaware and virginia and in case you didn’t hear people… it is almost here! our 2nd annual, dsi coaches conference is tomorrow.. and if you love high school football, you absolutely cannot miss this. we’ve got 8 coaches coming to the studio, were previewing all 27 of our maryland and delaware teams. so expect a lot of fun and maybe a little trash talk on the side, all in the form of a lot of fun right here at 7 on saturday. and now its time for your play of the day for this one, we head over to the royals and marlins game christian yelich drives this one deep to center.. and check this out jarrod dyson at the wall.. jumps and makes the catch! robs yelich of a home run.. and man that was a great play out there in center that’s it for sports. we’ll wrap things up after the break! keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc on the c-w you’re watching 47 abc on the c-w catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com hairstyles brought to you by designer’s edge
