When people think holiday drinking, 4th of July and New Years come to mind,  but Worcester County Sheriff, Matt Crisafulli, reminds us that any holiday, especially Thanksgiving, can be a catalyst for drinking.

He said there will be an increased police presence patrolling his jurisdiction on Thursday,
and warned that drinking and driving can result in a citation or even jail time.

“One bad decision with drinking and driving can lead to a loss of life and that’s what we’re trying to prevent,” Sheriff Crisafulli said. “The penalties, they can be stiff, but also you have to look at the fact that you make take someone’s life, or you may take your own.”

A first-time offense could land you with a $1,000 penalty and up to 1 year in jail. Your license could also be revoked for 6 months.
