Search for suspect underway following life-threatening shooting in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place Saturday afternoon.

Around 4:20 PM, deputies responded to the 500 block of North Curlew Road in Salisbury after reports of a shooting. On scene, they discovered a female victim who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies were able to apply life-saving measures until EMS arrived, transporting the victim to Tidal Health.

Police say the victim is in stable condition even though she suffered life-threatening injuries.

Deputies and detectives have identified Dequan Maurice Bratten as the suspect in the shooting. An arrest warrant has been issued for the 32-year-old Salisbury resident.
