Queen Anne’s Girls Soccer Wins State Title; Wins First Championship In Program History
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Queen Anne’s Girls Soccer Team takes down C Milton Wright 2-0 to capture the program’s first 2A MPSSSAA State Championship!
Kara Ringold scored both goals to lead the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions are the first Bayside team to capture a girls’ soccer championship!
After the game, Queen Anne’s Head Coach Mike Kern said everything lined up perfectly for his team to take the trophy.
“Everything kind of fell into place. We win the coin flip. We’ve been in state coin-flip situations before. We’ve never won a state coin coin flip, ever. And we won one this year and it felt like this is our year,” Kern said.
Ringold described the game-clinching goal she scored in the post-game presser.
“We’re just on attack and then you get really good passing on the left side and Taylor played me a great ball and I just took a touch around the defender and hoped for the best and then it went in. It was just a great movement like one of the best moments of my life,” Ringold said.
