Last second touchdown sinks Delmar’s season

DELMAR, Del. – Red Lion’s Judah Barber scored the go-ahead touchdown, then caught a game-winning interception to hand Delmar a 28-21 defeat in the DIAA 2A quarterfinals.

Trailing midway through the fourth quarter Delmar marched down the field on a drive that ended with a quarterback sneak by Ayden McCauley. The successful extra point put Delmar ahead, 21-20.

Red Lion was handed a short field on the ensuing kickoff and took advantage.

Barber scored with under a minute to play to put Red Lion ahead. He would intercept McCaulley on the following Delmar drive to end the game.

Delmar finishes the season 9-2 overall.
