Annual Tunnel to Tower 5K to help homeless veterans

DELAWARE. – This Saturday, Tunnel to Towers Delmarva will be hosting its sixth annual 5K.

The event helps remember the first responders who were killed on 9/11. The organization hosts the 5K each year to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers foundation, which benefits first responders, military members and veterans.

This year, they’re switching it up by kicking off the run at Cape Henlopen Beach. Organizer Brian Brubaker said the money raised from the event will go towards helping our local veterans.

“Our veteran problem right now is with homelessness, and this is everything that the foundation wants to tackle, especially the homeless veteran problem,” Brubaker said.
