Wicomico Co. announces first recipients of Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano has announced the first two recipients of the County’s Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund.

The goal of this initiative is to continue the County’s commitment to strengthening community resources and promoting healing and growth through targeted investments in organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

The first two recipients are:

  • The Recovery Resource Center: The center plans to implement a Peer Navigator’s Program and hire three Certified Peer Recovery Specialists, who will offer peer support to individuals in the early stages of recovery.
  • The Child and Family Center: The center will launch a program to conduct comprehensive assessments and interventions for children from the identified tiers who have or are at risk of experiencing Adverse Childhood Experiences. This is dedicated to addressing and mitigating the effects of these experiences, promoting resilience and enhancing long-term well-being for at-risk youth in the county.

“We are thrilled to support the Recovery Resource Center and The Child and Family Center as the first beneficiaries of the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund,” said County Executive Julie Giordano. “These organizations are doing invaluable work to improve the lives of individuals and families in our county, addressing recovery and childhood adversity in ways that will positively impact our community for years to come. By investing in programs like these, we’re creating a healthier, more resilient Wicomico County.”
