Violation at Milford city park leads to drug arrest

MILFORD, Del. – A reported park violation in Milford Monday night led to the arrest of a Greenwood man.

Just before 10 p.m., officers saw a vehicle parked in the Memorial Park Basketball Court area off of S. Washington Street and made contact with the driver due to them being in a city park after hours. Police say further investigation led to a Delaware State Police K-9 being called in, which resulted in the recovery of approximately 13.91 grams of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia indicative of drug dealing.

The driver, 19-year-old Ben Carter, was charged with manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $12,500 secured bail.
