Salisbury University freshmen ‘flock’ to campus for move-in day
SALISBURY, Md. – On Thursday, thousands of people flocked to Salisbury University for the big move in day. University police closed down a number of avenues and streets to make things easier on families. While no exact number was given, university officials tell 47 ABC, they had a record number of freshmen moving in this year. Over the next couple of days volunteers will be helping these students get situated with their new college life. They will also be providing a number of opportunities to ensure students thrive here for the next four years.
“The parents and the students will say goodbye and then we’ll move into student orientation. We have some fun things planned with our student government association, we have some entertainment coming in, they’ll also received some valuable information from various campus and off campus speakers,” said Public Relations Director, University Spokesperson Jason Rhodes.
Officials say more than 8,000 students will be returning to campus Monday for the first official day of classes.
