Man arrested following altercation with handgun in Milford
MILFORD, Del. – A Delaware man was arrested Tuesday night following a reported altercation involving a firearm.
Shortly before 9 p.m., officers were called to the unit block of N. Washington Street for a reported altercation between a man and two women. It was reported that the man was in possession of a firearm and had fled the scene, however, officers found the man walking through a parking lot on Park Avenue. He was subsequently taken into custody, and the firearm was recovered.
Further investigation revealed that the man, identified as 22-year-old Caleb Mumford, had gotten into a verbal altercation with the two women, during which he allegedly lifted his shirt and showed the firearm to the victims in a threatening manner.
Mumford was charged with attempted obstruction of justice, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and disorderly conduct. Following an intoxication hold, Mumford was given a $31,700 cash bond and a no-contact order with the victims.
