Salisbury man convicted in 2023 homicide
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been convicted of murder and other charges stemming from a July 2023 homicide.
26-year-old Antonio Oliver was convicted by a jury on Thursday of first degree murder, firearm use in a crime of violence, illegal possession of a regulated fired, and other related charges.
During the late night hours of July 31, 2024, Oliver got into a brief physical altercation with the victim in front of 1016 Fairground Drive in Salisbury. As the victim started to leave the area, Oliver’s friend gave him a handgun, at which time Oliver chased after the victim’s car. When the victim drove out of sight, Oliver ran across the parking lot and hid at the corner, waiting for the victim to return. When the victim returned, Oliver shot the victim six times before fleeing from the area, and the State of Maryland, before being arrested a few days later in Philadelphia.
Sentencing was postponed pending the completion of a pre-sentence investigation. Oliver will remain in custody pending sentencing.
