Weather Tidbits: Wildfires
This edition of Weather Tidbits will be discussing wildfires. Wildfires occur under a certain set of weather conditions. First, the vegetation needs to be dry. This will be a common occurrence during a long time of developing drought conditions. The relative humidity of the air needs to be low and there should be a least some winds as well. A heat source could than ignite a wildfire, and some wind will provide oxygen for the fire to flourish. Brush, leaf litter, dry grass, and trees are excellent fuel for fires. During wildfires, prepare to evacuate. Listen to emergency channels and know the status of the fire. Put emergency supplies and must have items in your car so you can evacuate quickly.
