DelDOT gives safety tips for drivers on the road

Delaware’s Department of Transportation officials are doing their part to keep residents and visitors safe as Hermine makes her way in.
DelDOT says that their primary job is to clear trees and debris that have fallen on the road. They are also working on setting up security perimeters for fallen electrical powerlines in order to have cars go around.
DelDOT recommends drivers to not maneuver through any standing or moving water. In case of blacked out lights due to power outages, drivers must treat those lights as a four-way stop.
A DelDOT representative told 47 ABC about some unique features that the DelDOT app can provide for those stuck in the storm.
As drivers come in, the app will give live notifications about any road closures.
When you download the app you can look at the many live traffic cameras that are all over the state.Drivers can also adjust their routes by using the app.
The app is available for apple and android smart phones and tablets for free.
