15-year-old girl shot in Norfolk

(AP) – Norfolk police say a 15-year-old girl was shot over the weekend.

Police say the shooting occurred at about 6 p.m. on Sunday. Police say witnesses told investigators that the girl was with a group of teenagers who were walking on Underwood Avenue when gunfire erupted from the direction of Chesapeake Avenue.
 
Police say the girl suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was taken to a nearby hospital.
