Man arrested in connection with 2015 Dover murder reportedly pleads guilty

court today. rochester stands accused of killing his estranged wife and her mother last year. 47 abc’s julian sadur was in court today has more on the case. pod gilbert rochester walked in to the kent county superior courthouse today – shackled around his ankles – refusing to make eye contact with the family of the victims he murdered. in front of judge william witham – rochester plead guilty to the murder of his estranged wifemary lane and her mother louise carrow – and received a sentence of life in prison without parole. the state dropping the other three charges – one count of first degree murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. track on the morning ofdecember 13 2015 rochester parked his car a mile away from lane’s home – snuck on to the property – and waited outside for the victims to come out- knowing they would be attended church that morning. first – was carrow – who rochester stabbed to death and left in detached garage – then he murdered lane – and left her body in walkway before fleeing the scene. thursday in court – his defense said although nothing excuses these heinous acts – rochester was a man overcome with stress. his lawyers say rochester had recently been diagnosed with cancer, lost his job, experienced a stroke and had been forced to leave his martial home – subsequently leading to him having to live on his sisters couch. rochester’s attorney who declined to go on camera saying – he’s only represented one man who he believes pre-meditated their killings and that rochester was not that outlier. the state – however disagreed with that sentiment. i don’t think there’s any doubt in anyone’s mind who touched this case that this was absolutely a planned murder and a double murder in fact track although rochester did not speak at during the proceedings – his attorney did say rochester in part wanted to avoid trial as to not drag the families of the victims back through the painful facts of the case. meanwhile – son in law to carrow – antonio moreno did speak – saying that since the death penalty was no longer offered in delaware – that god would be the final judge in rochesters case. moreno added carrow and lane will be remembered for the happiness and love they brought to the family. nothing we could do could bring them back, but this does end the criminal case and we know that mr. rochester isn’t going to get out of jail and that is a good thing on pod the court will decide if rochester will be ordered to pay any restitution at a later date. julian sadur, 47 abc back to you. thanks julian – the reason rochester wentrom plea entry all the way to sentencing today is that he asked for expedited sentencing. authorities say a tractor trailer carrying
