Woman arrested on drug charges in Harrington

On Sunday, the Harrington Police Department says they arrested a woman on drug charges.
Police were told that Melissa Davis, 28, was supposed to be at Connections on East Street for treatment, but she walked away.
According to the report, police were told that Davis might be at the Royal Farms on Milford-Harrington Highway waiting on a ride, so officers went to do a check on the welfare.
Officials say that when police got there, they were able to find Davis and searched her bag. In the bag, police apparently found four suboxone strips that were not prescribed to Davis.
According to the report, Davis was released due to her starting treatment at a local drug rehabilitation facility, however police went back to get warrants for her. She was then taken into custody on Sunday by Delaware State Police and turned over to the Harrington Police Department for processing.
A computer check revealed she had active capias out of Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
Officials say that Davis was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2, and she was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $1,400 secured bond.
