Sen. Carozza speaks out against offshore wind project

CRISFIELD, Md. – Senator Mary Beth Carozza recently spoke at a public hearing, advocating against the offshore wind project, which was approved by the federal government.

Senator Carozza was a spokesperson for her constituents in Worcester County, listing out many concerns that community members have for the project, including unresolved complaints about the first leased plot where the wind turbines would be installed.

“My point was, why would you go forward with a second lease area when you haven’t even answered the questions or addressed all the problems with the first calling area,” Senator Carozza asked. “What we’re really concerned about with the second calling area is the turbines could be as close as 3 miles to the shore.”

Senator Carozza encouraged anyone who has complaints about the project to contact her office.
