Second Brigade hosts Annual Summer Bash

MILFORD, Del. – People in the community on Saturday hosted the 2nd Annual Summer Bash to support troops overseas.

The fundraiser hosted by the Second Brigade took place at the Milford VFW.

A major purpose for the event is to raise money for Operation We Care, a local organization that ships items to deployed troops.

People enjoyed all sorts of delicious food like crabs as well as a dunk tank, horseshoes, live music and more.

Proceeds collected will go towards buying things like toothbrushes, razors and snacks for troops.

“They have to be supported and if we don’t support them who’s going to?” said Bryan Below, the event organizer.

“They’re doing a mission that a lot of people in this country won’t step up and do, and so they deserve support from people that want to step up and support them,” said Below.

Several events will be hosted throughout the year that will help support Operation We Care.
