Easton man indicted by grand jury in connection to July shooting

EASTON, Md. – An Easton man has been served with a grand jury indictment on first degree murder charges.

The charges stem from an incident just after 10:30 p.m. on July 16th. Officers initially responded to the 400 building of the Parkway Apartment complex for a report of multiple shots fired. It was reported that the person responsible had run into an apartment in the 400 building, and officers surrounded the area while waiting for additional information. A search and seizure warrant was obtained for the apartment, and the residents and visitors were brought out safely.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect, 18-year-old Davin Lake, had fired multiple shots at a group of people. No one was injured.

The U.S. Marshals Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked Lake to a residence in Georgetown on July 19th and took him into custody.

On Thursday, Eston Police served Lake with a Talbot County grand jury indictment, charging him with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and firearm use in a violent crime. He is currently in custody at the Talbot County Detention Center.
