OC Jeep Club to donate school supplies
WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Dozens of Jeeps will make their way from Ocean City to Stephen Decatur High School on Saturday to help the community.
The OC Jeep club will be bringing donations they’ve collected for local schools, but they’re just one group that’s part of the donation drive.
The Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services spearheaded the donation drive, something they do every single year to make sure students are prepared.
The organization says it costs around two-hundred dollars for a kid to be prepared for the start of the school year, and that’s something that some families just can’t afford.
“this is a big help to families who are struggling, living paycheck to paycheck. And, you know, $200 a child is expensive to go to school,” Steven Tyler, Executive Director of Worcester Youth and Family Counseling Services, Inc., said.
The Jeeps will drop off donations on Saturday, but the Worcester Youth and Family center will continue to accept donations at their office in Berlin.
The donations will be spread out to schools throughout Worcester County.
