Steve McCarron defeats Cindy Green in Sussex County Council primary race

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – A new face will be coming to Sussex County Council.

Bridgeville businessman and volunteer fireman Steve McCarron was successful in his bid to unseat incumbent Councilwoman Cindy Green. McCarron beat Green 58% to 41%, garnering 2,535 votes over Green’s 1,802.

McCarron tells us he’s thankful for all the support he received, and that he learned a lot about what matters to the people of Sussex County over the course of his campaign.

“I’m just thankful for the support of the community,” McCarron explained. “Certainly, throughout the whole process, I met a lot of different people and heard a lot of concerns of what we see around this county, and I’ve really liked interacting with the voters.”

McCarron will serve as District 2’s next councilman as there is no Democrat running for the seat.
