Wicomico County Public Library is looking for tutors

SALISBURY-Md.,- The Wicomico County Public Library is looking for volunteers for project read.

Project Read is a free one-on-one adult literacy program that helps with the basic skills associated with reading, writing, and math.

Along with literacy skills, the library also helps with GED prep and workplace skills.

Volunteer tutors must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

Project Reads Program coordinator DeMyra Harvey explains how the tutoring program works.

Harvey says “We actually match tutors with their learners based on their available times so once you come in for the interview process we will get your available times that you can offer your help offer your services and then we match that with the learners as well.”

Harvey also added, “The days of the week and the times depend upon the tutor and the learner matching.”
