Local organization to give away free school supplies

SALISBURY, Md. – The First Baptist Church of Salisbury is hosting its annual back to school bash.

The event draws in Wicomico County community members for a day of fun and connection before the school year. Event organizers will give away free gift cards and undergarments for grades PreK-8 and offer boys haircuts.

Youth pastor, Jarrell Whaley, said he’s looking forward to bringing everyone together to give back to families so they can start the school year off right.

“It’s just an opportunity for us to give back to the community through food, beverages, live music, some face painting, and games. We’ll have different community vendors that will also be on site as well,” Whaley said.

The event will kick off on Saturday and will run from 10-2PM in the Church’s parking lot.
