UPDATE: OC Boardwalk Trams out of service until further notice

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Boardwalk Trams in Ocean City will not be operating until further notice.

The notice was posted on the Town of Ocean City’s website Wednesday morning. Officials say a potential date for service restoration has not been determined at this time.

This comes after an accident Tuesday evening that claimed the life of a toddler.

Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan released a statement Wednesday morning, expressing his deepest condolences on behalf of the Town:

“There are no words to convey the profound sadness we feel for the family and their unimaginable loss. We are devastated and heartbroken. Ocean City is a tight-knit community, and we grieve together in times like these. We are committed to supporting the family and ensuring that everything possible is done to prevent such tragedies in the future.”

The Town says it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and authorities in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
