Wayne King, mayoral candidate, hosts kick-off event

SALISBURY, Md. – There’s a new mayoral candidate in Salisbury, and he held his first event in downtown on Thursday.

Wayne King held his kick-off event at Brew River, inviting anyone to come meet him, say hello, and ask any questions.

King is taking on current Mayor Jake Day and is hoping to win on November 5 of this year.

He says his campaign is focused on crime, homelessness, and the economy.

“My message is basically like Trump’s message,” King said,  “I want to make Salisbury safe again, because right now we’re going down.”

King is planning a free concert on August 24th in Salisbury for his next campaign event.
